Been a long time since I've been here...

Somtimes I think we need a debate forum so we can talk about philosophical issues, such as this:

Save the earth, kill all humans.

Leave them to their own devices, they're perfectly capable of killing themselves.

Your choice whether I'm referring to humans, philosophical discussion forums, or threads like this one.

oh, the earth can look pretty fine after itself. just a shrug with the shoulders is needed to get rid of all that nuisance aboard,eh?

Humans are capable of destroying the earth, but they'll destroy their own social structures before it gets that far.

Much worse has happened to the earth than us, it'll survive. Of course, we won't be quite as lucky...

I notice a tendency to refer to "killing the earth" or suchlike while assuming that if we can't live here then nothing else can. There are a lot of species that would survive or adapt to survive in an environment that would finish us off.
