Sorry. I feel a complete jerk for this one :-[
can someone tell me what NNTP server i should use in order to access alt.os.development ?
okay, there's google front-end, but i'd prefer to use the dedicated interface ...

There are a lot of free NNTP servers around. I use news.cis.dfn.de which, although it requires registration, carries a lot of groups and is virtually spam-free.

Check if your ISP provides an NNTP server. Most do, but few actually advertise doing so. Since they are usually reserved for customers, they're pretty good. (Mine is.

Doesn't your university have a news server?
Maybe news.ulg.ac.be ?

well seen, chris. They actually have news.ulg.ac.be, but they do not have 'alt.os.dev' on it ... (maybe i'll try to see if there's a procedure to reclaim other newsgroup, but i fear they wont do it)
thanks for the hints.
