Other hobbies..?

I wonder, what other hobbies do the regulars here have besides OSdev/Adventures?
Anyone have done anything they'd like to share?
I thought I'd start by telling I waste about as much time on music as I do on programming...
except, ofcourse I do some audio programming as well.
Here, for example, is what I finished last night (psytrance warning):
MP3 stream:
Green Ray of Light - Almost Sane (or
download)
Btw, all the synths in the above are my own (C++) code; the effects are not though..
Those with more conservative taste in music can also look at my other project:
http://www.mikseri.net/bluemace (page in Finnish, sorry, it's a Finnish site
)
So, anybody else have some music, art, poems, or whatever else they'd like to tell about?
PS. Yes, this is shameless self-promotion, but I'm genuinely interested in what other people here do when they don't hang here. So please tell if you got something interesting online..

Ah. Studying at University of applied science. Yes, that's what I'm currently doing besides work.
Other than that, if my rare spare time permits, I like to do the cooking thing (mediterranean, asian and viennese kitchen and sometimes svenska husmanskost)
In former times I used to write stories, but the intensive letting go of reality is something I cannot imagine currently. Also I used to paint pictures ppl like to look at (well, no time for that)
Yeah, and hanging out with my GF, of course. After all, living in a menage a deux requires paying attention & listening to the other one. Those who share their life with a fairy (or a prince, dunno) might know what I am talking about.

There is life outside of mega-tokyo?
Anyway, what I enjoy is watching and collecting gundam anime. I am also a big console and pc gamer.

I do
medieval re-enactment. I like to read a lot (fantasy, sci-fi mostly). Back then I did play American Football (outside linebacker / cornerback) and did martial arts (Jiu Jiutsu), but I don't find the time for those anymore. I like (fantasy) role-playing games, a hobby which I hope to intensify a bit after several years of being without a campaign.
And then there is my two-year-old daughter, which is a very delightful hobby all in itself.

OS development pretty much takes all my spare time these days other then when world cup soccer or "football" games are on I would be watching that. I pretty much have interest in just about everything, ..but don't have any real hobbies, basically just software development.
Mystran: Ah I was a musican back then, played electric guitar, had a band going, but didn't get anywhere, perhaps its because people wern't use to seeing an asian dude strumming guitars heh heh. But I do have composed a few midis afterwards. At the moment I can't find that old floppy I saved them in..
Chris: I also collect Gundam episodes. Only got Gundam SEED and up to 10th episode in the Destiny episodes.
Solar: I had my share of MUDs specifically Gemstone III. Then got addicted to Neverwinter Nights, not anymore (lack of role-players and too much power gamers). As for martial arts, I didn't get far with Kendo, probably not even worth mentioning.

Ahem... actually World of Warcraft is the only RPG I ever played on a computer (unless you count The Bard's Tale I-III). What I was talking about is the pen&pencil type. You know, Dungeons & Dragons, Midgard, Rolemaster, MERP, Talislanta - where you sit around a table, tell a story together and toss the dice...

Yes I know D&D.. Neverwinter and most MUDs are very close tide with D&D rules. The problem with pen and paper, theres not many people who do that anymore.

I've done quite a bit of role-playing as well, that so called "pen and paper" stuff. Actually "dice and distractions" would probably be closer to truth, because people almost never bother to actually sit around a table.

I don't find the sitting at the table is the problem (must have beer). But to find your all your buddies who do still play D&D is the hard part. And probally lost all the monster guide/books and rulesets. And a good DM makes it much more fun.

Not if you know where to look. Game store blackboards are a #1 ressource. If there isn't anyone looking for players, post a request yourself. You'll be surprised, I'd guess. If that doesn't work, Google for RPG boards on the net. (You'll find people there for sure, the trick is to find people in your vicinity.
)

I wouldn't worry about the books. Just get some of the old rules on eBay (don't bother with the new ones, they're not any better, just stretched across more books for profit). Or be lucky and find a good DM who has his own ruleset at hand. (Someone who hasn't probably isn't that good a DM anyway.)
And a good DM makes it much more fun.
Yep, that's the main problem. A shitty DM can ruin the best campaign...

My hobbies are relatively close to Solar's. Reading sci-fi and fantasy, some Ju Jitsu (hehe, different spelling), role-playing games, wargaming, learning electric guitar, few other things, and my gf of course. Too many to actually have time for simultaneously, I tend to spend a while on one and then move on, kind of a rotation scheme.
Edit:
I just noticed an implication in what I said, so for reference, my gf isn't included in the rotating between things ;D

I do web development for people, and would make a reasonably tidy bit off of that if I could bring myself to accept the offered payments.
I'm fairly heavily involved in the Flight Simulator community.
Other than that, I'm reasonably sporty. I do a lot of skiing, sailing and running. Then, at night if I'm in the mood I do a bit of writing - usually poetry although I churn out the occasional short story.

Playing World of Warcraft, Game development, writing, playing World of Warcraft..etc..
WoW probably takes up most of my day, it's probably sucked me away from OSDeving it's just incredibly addicting. I'm doing a little game development with writing my own little 3D Engine with DX9 and stuff, I've also looked into programming with .NET it's been pretty fun.
