MySQL needed

Does anyone know a plain direct link from where I can download MySQL server?
I tried the MySQL site and am forwarded to a mirror from where they apparently need to use some kind of weirdeness (from where I can never download anything) instead of giving a plain link.
So does anyone know some site with a plain link to the MySQL files?

You go to the MySQL website, open the downloads page, choose what you want, choose the architecture you want, when it shows the registration form click the "No just take me to the downloads" link at the top in large font. Choose a mirror from the list by clicking the "HTTP" or "FTP" word at the end of each line.

That is exactly what I tried before posting here.
FTP is blocked by a firewall and HTTP through any other port that 80 seems to be blocked too.

That is a problem of your workstation / your provider, not one of MySQL I'd daresay...?
If we are to provide a "direct download link", you would have to at least give us a hint of the intended target platform. It wouldn't help much to give you a location for a RedHat RPM if you want to run the MySQL on a Windows box...

Go to the page you see the mirror list on. Copy the link of any of the mirrors, and then go to the address you see after /from/ in the link. When you go to the download page in the mirror you selected, you should see direct links to the files.

@Eero: Tried that too. Didn't work

This is getting ridiculous.
I chose the Belnet mirror, and the "all included" package.
You should check with your ISP if you can't even access plain port 80 mirror sites from your place. I was able to connect to each of the below URLs sitting behind a corp firewall...
http://mysql.belnet.be/Downloads/MySQL- ... 24-win.zip
http://mysql.belnet.be/Downloads/MySQL- ... -win32.zip

Nope the links give me an interscan error (from the firewall) BTW its the 4.1 37Mb file would do I think (windows x86).

Well, since I don't know your location, or what firewall you are behind (and why you aren't trying to solve the problem at its source, your firewall), or why plain HTTP links don't work for you, all I can suggest is that you google for MySQL 4.1 and check whatever links you get unless you come across one that works for you...

Neo not even the gruffiest teenage broncin' buck is *that* sullen *rofl*. I've thought, the chosen one is capable to deal with such ... little things?
Honestly, that's something with your connection. I've got interscan here too, and it delivers me sometimes those "no content errors", if the target isn't reachable or the connection has borked due to any reason.
By the way, each of Solar's links works. Have checked them just not to talk rubbish.

Sorry for this lame parody.
Tank: "Okay, what do you need, besides PHP?"
Neo: "MySQL. MySQL 4.1 for Windows."
Trinity: "Neo, no one has had problems with downloading MySQL before."
Neo: "That's why I made this thread."
But, as Solar said, try searching for MySQL from somewhere other than the official site.
