I'm having some difficulty with my Internet access at the moment, the HTTP headers arrive messed up at the destination. My ISP has gateway proxies so my real IP is encapsulated in HTTP_FORWARDED_FOR_X, the only thing is HTTP_FORWARDED_FOR_X contains the word "unknown" followed by the proxy's IP, you may be able to see this in action in the bottom right corner of this post.
I have a feeling it's something to do with my router but I don't know what's going on, it only happens with some sites then randomly switches every now and then, the sites start working again but some other site that wasn't affected becomes affected. I feel it may be NAT related but does anyone have any idea what is going on?
Busted HTTP Headers
Re:Busted HTTP Headers
I think I've narrowed this down, the router has started doing it again after a power surge, I've had a few surges in recent times and I'd be inclined to believe that if I recorded when the surges and router problems occured that they'd line up perfectly.
I'm still lost on how to fix it though, the problem seems to go away by itself after a while but even if I completely unplug it or reset the factory defaults it still won't recover.

Re:Busted HTTP Headers
Hmm.... curious, not sure the answer, strange, hard ot say based off of that information, however if you're sure it's the router I have a simple solution:
Buy another one, network routers aren't exactly expensive.

Re:Busted HTTP Headers
Well then it seems you have a problem, If you don't want to replace youre router i would check how it's been set up, most routers have settings pages accessed as a webpage or if you don't want to mess around with you're routers settings try ringing youre ISP HelpDesk to see if they can help with the problem ALTERNATIVLY you could try contacting a network specialist on a website dedicated to network problems...
Re:Busted HTTP Headers
The router is new, it doesn't have ALG settings, I have fully configured everything that it does have. My ISP's helpdesk is rather useless.
As I said, the problem goes away by itself after a while but I just wanted to be able to force it to work again straight away, but it seems I can't, the surge might overcharge the memory in it or something which takes a few hours/days to drain.
