Come on now. Really. I'd surprised if anyone here even looks at the number of your stars. It isn't as if it would add weight to your posts - the regulars on this board know each other by name anyway.

That being said, you could follow the YaBB SE link at the bottom of each page to find out how the board software defaults, as I doubt df tinkered with the settings - because, as I said, they're not important.

Just a hint, they indicate how many posts you have made or some combination with the time since you were registered. In other words, it's a lame idea of how "experienced" you are. Have seen numerous people with 5 stars post complete nonsense and a few with 1 or 2 stars post enlightening material. It does not count for anything, don't mind it.

Yes, it is about the post count.
I believe that using Search would bring you to a thread with the exact numbers of posts needed for each star.
However, do not start double-posting, or making pointless posts to increase the post count. Better make your name known by being smart and polite.

post count just says how much you've talked here already. No indication about how witty, clueful or whatsoever your posts have been.

So, as the others have stated, rather concentrate on posting elucidating stuff instead of dumb posts just to increase post count.

stay safe

Df took the number of posts that show below those stars away once. Said it created too much spam... people wanting to have a big number there as they seemed to think they'd be important then. Even those people don't care 'bout postcount anymore nowadays, so those stars're practicly meaningless. Don't mind those and just enjoy your stay ;)

Yeah, you shouldn't worry about the stars. I've been here pretty much from the beginning, and I haven't even made it to 100 posts.

(Although I did just make this post to increase my count... ;) )

As far as i know youre stars increase every 25 posts

< 25 posts 1 star
> 25 . < 50 2 stars
> 50 . < 75 3 start
> 75 . < 100 4 stars
> 100 5 stars

As far as I can tell mine didn't increase for quite some time. Also, your own post count contradicts your logic :)

IT would be cool if you reach like 1500 then you get some kind of blinking or blue or whatever stars, that would be kinda like an Elite/God Member or whatever.
