So, what were the names of people in the 60's. I'm making a game about that time and I have no idea what did people name their kids
in 1960's. So, if you know, feel free to let me know.

A lot would depend on where your game is set.

Well, America. So, were the names something simple like...George... or whatever...umm...so basically what you people can do is give the name of your father and mom'.

I don't want to sound hostile, but when such a question is asked without qualifier, you can bet on the questioner assuming USA. :-\

That being said, Oliver, your question is still too vague. Do you mean the names of newborn kids, adolescents, tweens, middle-aged people? They have been named in the 60'ies, 50'ies, 40'ies and 30'ies, respectively... 8)

Well that clears up an old question.

I thought I was just being paranoid when I kept finding so many other people called Michael ;D.

*Raises his hand*

Add me to your count...
but then with a hebrew meaning of:
"He who is like God"
or something to that effect, it's no wonder parents keep using it... try and instil some sense of morality into the kid before he learns what immorality is! ;)

Hmm.... somehow I didn't pick Sweeden as being highly Muslim? But then the only real thing I know about Sweden is that they don't talk like the "Swedish Chef" on the Muppet Show! ;D

3.9% of the population are Muslim, that's second only to France in Western Europe. I assume an additional number are immigrants of appropriate background that aren't actively Muslim anymore but still name their kids in the old ways. And, with Swedes being pretty liberal with everything, and Mohammed being a nice-sounding name, I can also picture Swedish kids being Mohammed without any Muslim background at all.

I think you'll find Mohammed Ali was neither Arabic, nor his real name... ;)

Yeah I know, I wasn't being particularly serious... you should hear some of the names we give places down this way, at least Mohammed is pronouncable! ;D

I've noticed that English people give their kids really weird names. Especially here in the South. (Completely different world)

Names like Arial (like the mermaid), Chantelliza and Ferrarri-Sabrina-Britney. All of those are real names from real people I really know. Of.

...which, unless I'm seriously mistaken, was "Arielle" even in the US version of the movie - which is quite a nice name IMHO. (OK, so in German the title of the film was "Arielle, die Meerjungfrau", making gross misspellings like the above rather unlikely.)
