Win 98 acting weird...
Win 98 acting weird...
Ok, this is weird.
I'm running Win 98 on an AMD Athlon XP 2000+ processer, with an onboard GeForce 2, with all the updates and drivers... and get this...
The media files, mp3, midi, avi, etc. play at double speed!
How can i fix this problem? I tried Googling, but no help there. Links would be nice, not just a vague reference to Microsoft.
Ah well, I'm off to bed. Too pissed off to sleep, though.

Re:Win 98 acting weird...

Re:Win 98 acting weird...
Because my XP CD has been borrowed by my sister, and now it is so scarred, it can't complete installation :-\
Re:Win 98 acting weird...
Didn't I tell you to brute force-hack your sis 'bout a year ago so she wouldn't do such things anymore ::) Just one small hex editor's all you need.
Anyway, a few good kicks can always slow the pc down (most of the time up to the point of not running at all, but that's a different problem then ;D )

Hell, I don't wanna be called "too delirious to own a computer"! Who else has heard of a problem like this? Win98SE too fast? Shyeah! ;DJoey wrote: haha. i dunno, contact microsoft and ask them.
Re:Win 98 acting weird...
try booting into dos and running a dos game.. is it too fast then?
look into your bios settings and switch to default settings..
it might be a hardware error.

Re:Win 98 acting weird...
Hmm... I guess it's a flaw in Media Player. Just downloaded RealOne and it's fine now.
Re:Win 98 acting weird...
RealOne? urgh
Get MediaPlayer Classic if you really want a replacement.

Re:Win 98 acting weird...
And if you want to paly .rm and .ram files, get Real Alternative.
Re:Win 98 acting weird...
RealOne is full of adware, and it's hard to remove it from there...
Use Media Player Classic + Real Alternative + Quicktime Alternative.

Re:Win 98 acting weird...
It's a Windows multimedia driver misconfiguration. I know this for a fact (I've seen the problem before). Installing different media players wouldn't do anything, nor would running slowdown utilities (not that mo'slo would work for Windows though, heh, that's crazy talk).
