recording while playing a game?

i wanted to make a music video for my rtcw clan. does anyone know of a program i could use to record while i am playing a game? so i will play rtcw for a while online, then stop and shut off the recorder, save it as an mpg or something, open adobe premeir i think it is, cut out parts of the vid and add in music. what program could i use to record while playing a game?

I also wanted to find one, but I didn't (at least something that could record from DirectX games with normal framerate, while being free)...
