Why do I have the feeling I'll also be complaining about locking threads too?

Because some people dont know how to take jokes or topics in the off-topic board that are off-topic...

Hehehehe, maybe a sticky topic in the Off-topic can be made where all the off-topic posts in topics in the off-topic board are moved to ;D

Kon-Tiki, did you really mean that?

At least that'll keep everyone from complaining 'bout locked topics 'cause they went off-topic. You'll still be able to reply on a post, but it won't interfere with the topic itself ;D
Anyway, <grin> <grin> <chuckle> <grin>

So what you're saying is that one of us should make a thread that serves as the continuation of locked threads, right? That's not pointless, that's genius!

Did I say that? I meant that a topic can be made to where the mods can copy the posts that take a topic too far off-topic so that that discussion can be continued elsewhere. The mods don't have to argue 'bout getting things back on track then, you still keep both conversations and there's no need to lock the topic if it's getting too far off of it's original purpose.
Hmmm, this's not so funny anymore. It's formulated seriously now

Well this did start off as a misplaced complaint...but that doesn't mean we can't get the hilarious started again.

Well...it does take a moderator to do a sticky...although...it would be pretty damn hard to copy and paste all the posts into a Database for people to argue with...posts cant easily be moved to subposts becasue if i am not mistaken they are stored in a SQL database...even if they wanted to copy all the posts to the thread...that would be pointless...
NOW...
If they made links to the locked topics...(not counting jonnings and klue because those doent count...) for discussion that would lead to mass chaos because it would all be like oh well im talking about this...and..WFT why did you say ____ aobut ____ and the person responds...i was asking about ____ not ____ so f____ off
Just my opinon though...

The buttons shouldn't be there in the first place... I guess df must have modded it to be there.
Also that isn't a bad idea for topics that go off topic. There is a mod that can split topics. Basically what you do is go down the the post that went off topic click the split button and it makes a new topic where the first post is the place you split it from. It is a usefull mod for people who like to bring topics off the topic.

I don't think it would go that far, smg. I assume we are all mature adults here and we know how to keep our cool.
