While you were gone we tried to set the forum on fire but, SMG and Joey wouldn't let us because they said it would affect their "post count". :P

Is that preview thing a bug? I thought that was just the way it was.... ::)

Welcome back df! Hey, I didn't realize just how long you have been around. I saw some old utility on Peter Kelly's site made by you. Do you or anyone else ever talk to those old school AGI guys? Ever think they would come back. Just curious, it's kind of a bummer that two of the most important people to AGI aren't part of it anymore... :(

later,
-junc

<@DF>: There were some mice running around here while you were gone. They've nibbled at the corners of the board.</@DF>

Junc's right. Does anyone know what Peter Kelly and Lance Ewing're up to nowadays?

Well I am part of the SE boardmod team, and they want me to join the development team to build YaBBSE2(it is being built from scratch with an oop based php style), but I told them they will have to wait till I finish my current projects before I would start.

And yes, certain parts of this board is my code, such as the new instant messages feature at the top and boardindex of the board is all my code.

I didn't know that feature was new...I got here in july/june 2002.

That feature was implimented in 1.4.0 based upon my mod that I did for 1.3.1, they liked it so much they asked me to make it a built in feature. I lead the development and beta testing of 1.4.0 and got my name in the credits of the board for it.

The board is using 1.4.1 right now which is the latest version and is supposed to be the last version until YaBBSE2.

Well I don't think you need to rush, SE2 production isn't going that fast.

Lets just say that I have almost completed my own board... and they still are no where near completling... and they started before me and have more people on the SE developer staff(while I did all of my board by myself).

Anyway I wouldn't make it 100% oop if I where you, pure oop is slower than function based programming. YaBBSE2 only uses it where it makes things better and easier, not throughout the entire software. For instance only 2 of my scripts on my almost complete board have oop in them, the driver files, they contain classes based on different types of databases and even flatfile... and I just switch the class I am using when I want to change database types.
