Visual Basic question

ive been asking a lot of questions about pascal, html, qbasic, php, etc. oh well. anyway, i was looking at some games made with visual basic and they look pretty good. better than qbasic games atleast. is visual basic more advanced then qbasic? like, does it have more features. can you compile it into a .exe file? would it be easier to learn? would it be quicker to learn?
im still deciding which language to learn. now im leaning towards visual basic. i just wanted some info on it first.

C++ is the most powerful lang, and that's what I choose.
I do remeber a bit if VB, and VB makes QB seem like, well, :-X (not a curse).
VB is for Win32 and can make .exe's, and the .exe's need dlls distributed to run the prog.
Hope that helps, and check the hahaha post I made.

also, VB (I think ) is more easy than QB. But VB needs more functions to type in, but buttons to click do most of that for you.

there is this prog called envelop, used to be a vb compediter.
you can't get VB free online, but when I was searching for VB free, I found Envelop. here's the link:

envelop is good for learning and seeing what the language is like, also comes with a good tutorial.

also on the envelop site it says:
A non-compiling interpreting version of Microsoft Visual Basic 6 (Working Model) is available in bookstores with a CD for $30.00 , 450 pages
SAMS teach yourself VB6 in 24 hours
This is what I recommend to you.
you can test VB with that too...

You can make exe's from QBasic programs too...
VB3 is free, but it's not worth downloading.
I started of with QBasic (there was no VB back than I think) and later moved on to VB, but I never enjoyed it like I enjoyed QB! Don't know why though...
Last year we had to make Mastermind in VB for school, I'll send it to you (if I can find it ::) )...
