Hi guys,
I recently installed RH9 and Xandros 3.0.1 in my system. Now, I face a strange problem in my RH9 system. This, I don't face always. But, some times. After completed using /dev/cdrom, when I try to unmount /dev/cdrom, it won't. It would tell me, /dev/cdrom: device is busy. But, I have not kept open any application accesing cdrom. Then, when I reboot the system, without unmounting, Linux tells me that "the mouse is removed from your system". Then, when it finally comes to the login prompt, it won't accept any key strokes. But, i have checked, both the keyboard and mouse are properly connected to my system. Then, what else can I do? I have to restart the system manually. What could be the cause for this problem?

well, you'll probably get better response on a Linux User Group or something alike: in case you didn't noticed, you're on a "programming" board ...

That being said, "fuser -vm <where cdrom is mounted" should help you identifying if there are programs still using the cdrom that you might not be aware of.
