hi all,

how to install the following packages in LFS ...Bash, Binutils, Coreutils, Findutils, GCC, Glibc, Grep, Gzip, Make, Modutils, Perl, Sed....

do we need to get help from any other kernel or can we do it just with boot the disk with an ext2 partition(formatted) how to approach that... i have n't tried any option ... valuable suggestions will be accepted.

thanks in advance

How about reading the LFS book which tells you exactly (including the specific commands) how to do these. LFS site also contains various hints for installing stuff that goes beyond the base LFS.

Start from Knoppix, then follow the book. Very simple, takes quite a while though. Once you have the base installed you can figure out what you want to use in terms of package management (If you really want to).
