If u dont have a nice book go to Brucke Eckels Books.

There is a small tutorial on Java attached to the post. It's good in content.

you should also be able to find very good JAVA tutorials on SUN's website. (http://java.sun.com/)

I'll second that. SUN does provide an extensive amount of tutorials and documentation. I find it's API documentation to be second to none other than ActivePerl.
