What is the point of forum if we have some "telegram" group?

A Telegram group would be an alternative to the #osdev IRC channel, not the forum obviously.

But my PC on Windows 98 couldn't handle Telegram! It has some CSS 3.0, HTML5 and jQuery! They are bit too new, for these times. Tested them in virtual machines, but they are simply too buggy for 2016.
IRCs are faster.
I'm not sure that "telegram" could handle 600 people in one group for sure.
