i'm currently giving an eye to Dex4u (http://jas2o.f2g.net/dex4u/dex4u_img.zip) ... viewing "fasm.txt" and running test programs worked fine (except it's a bit annoying to type "run pong.dex" instead of simply be allowed to type "pong", especially in a dos-like interface)

I unfortunately cannot do anything with CDs. even i gave access to /dev/cdrom to Qemu, Dex is now able to operate on D: without telling me there's no disk, but still i cannot see anything while typing "dir" in d:... (just "listing directory" and then the prompt is back)

I did not make Dex4u. Dex4u (on the forum) did.

Here is the main site: http://falconrybells.co.uk
Here is the forum: http://dex.forumer.com

I am interested in why you found my image. That is a special image I made to use Dex4u in an emulator. Could you please post how you found my image.

That is the Dex4u Demo 3 Feedback topic.

Dex4u on IRC? Look here: http://dex.7.forumer.com/viewtopic.php? ... c&start=30

I posted my image in the announcements area. I suppose I should make a link somewhere to show Dex4u home.

This is starting to get really confusing... ;D
By IIRC he means "If I Recall Correctly" or "If I Remember Correctly", and not IRC.. ;)

Sorry i mist this topic, i pointed Pype Clicker to the image by jas2o, because that image works in a emulator.

I do not use emulators so can not comment on any problems to do with them, but here some pointers, "Dex4u" CD driver only reads the root Dir, so if you try it with a disk that does not have any file in the root Dir just dir's it will not print a list, also it reads file names in the 8 letter name and 3 extention.
Having said that it will show whats on a bootable linux disk.

Try a differant disk, also try it in a real pc, but to be onist i have not seen, so far any emulator, that the cd works in .

Any more ? just ask :) .

PS: The "run" command i agree is a pane, but it speeds search up a bit and "Dex4u" will be a GUI based OS, but its best to get things running in a CLI first, it will also be good for problem solving later .
