Looking for a Development Team...

My name is Robert Santellan, and I have a vision. I would like to create an operating system that will give PC users a great alternative to Microsoft's all-so-popular Windows platform OS.
I have some great Ideas for this OS and am eager to get started. I do intend to go commercial with this OS. I am really excited about it, but a I have two problems:
1. I have no money what-so-ever to contribute towards this project.
2. I know nothing about developing an operating system.
What I need is a team of experienced developers who would like to get in on this project. I also ask that you help me by teaching me what you know about OS development as you proceed with the development.
If you are interested, email me at

You may want to contact the people involved with
SkyOS or
ReactOS and see if you are able to study and contribute to those projects.

Unlike other hobby projects, you don't need money to write an operating system (unless you take into account your computer, your power bills)

Okay, now I see the problem there.. If you had 1) you could possible do it without 2), but you can't do it without both.
That address sounds like it belongs to a preteen Flash/javascript script kiddie..

Ideas are nothing if you can't implement them. Try working with a simple OS first, create something that displays "hello world!" then move onto memory management and other concepts like that.
Once you know a bit, you can then proceed to work on your real 'idea'. My vision is of a graphical user interface that exceeds the quality of Windows. At the moment though, I'm concentrating on having a solid base of knowledge first.
