Hi,

I doubt the CPU is to blame. More likely is a bad video driver or faulty memory, or just plain old Microsoft bugs (a google search for "Visual Studio 2010 crash" shows lots of results from lots of people with lots of different symptoms).

To be honest, I think a good CPU should refuse to execute Visual Studio. :)

Cheers,

Brendan

Based on your description, your processor is probably being damaged by excessive levels of bad punctuation. Unfortunately, few warranties (these days, grumble grumble...) cover this; you can, however, remedy it temporarily by applying spearmint toothpaste to the processor die.

If you have any further difficulties after trying that, I suggest calling tech support, but claim it was alpha radiation and you used peppermint. The symptoms are nearly the same.
