I do remember saying that IBM probably has all of these available, for a price.

Did you try posting on here?: http://www.vintage-computer.com/vcforum/forum.php

Are you sure those titles are exact?
http://bitsavers.org/pdf/ibm/pc/IBM_Tec ... _Jun88.pdf

From that PDF the full title for part # 68X2279 is "Personal System/2 Display Adapter 8514/A Adapter Interface Application Developer's Guide".

Best of luck!

Have you tried http://ps-2.kev009.com/basil.holloway/? Fair warning, I've had a look at some of their documents, and some of the numbers are slightly wrong (most are right, but it is worth bearing in mind...).

Hi, for the first one - could this be it:
http://www.mcamafia.de/pdf/pdfref.htm

For the "PS/2 MOUSE TECHNICAL REFERENCE (S68X-2229-00)" that's the only one that was searchable on IBM's site, and it can be ordered. (at least when I selected Sweden - not sure if it's in english, but I would guess that it is)

Fair enough, I will edit my post for completeness. Thanks for pointing it out.

Yes, I have.

Unfortunately, no. The MCA bus is described there and the first entry in my table is an update to that.

You can only find it and see its price if you select "All publications" but not if you use "All orderable publications" or "All online publications (read/download)" as filters. This is the third time I've had to explain this... :)

It's because contacting IBM seems like the obvious solution. If you've tried everything in that regard, you might consider posting on mailing lists or Usenet.

Or, try a more radical approach; attempt to track down the original authors/designers who worked on this. I imagine some of them might be willing to describe how it works to you.. and possibly find you those documents.

My intention is to collect those documents before they are lost forever. I have no problem with sharing information.

Do you think I really haven't thought about that and many more? I've searched the Web, contacted IBM, tried libraries, asked people that used said documents as references for their patents/books/specifications/etc., talked to collectors, even had to find translators to talk to certain people. Trust me, you've never seen more exhaustive searches than mine. I wouldn't be offering rewards if I didn't consider it was out of my own hands.

Have you considered dumpster diving?

I can see you've put a lot of thought into that reply so I will stop and think about it.

Continuing in Brynet-inc's spirit... tried craigslist? ;) Seriously, reaching a broader audience might be a good idea, no matter how you go about it. Could be that some old geezer has it on the attic without ever visiting forums like these and not knowing how rare they are.
