A new test-environment

I just got a new laptop at work. I hand-picked it so speces for central components would be available. It is a Compaq Presario CQ57. It has a dual-core AMD processor, AMD Radeon graphics card, PS/2 keyboard & mouse, Realtek (new) generation ethernet-card, AHCI/IDE disc & CD/DVD and 3 USB 2.0 ports. It also has a wireless network-card, a sound-card and a web-camera.

First it took 5-6 hours to repartion the system so something else than Windows 7 could run with Paragon Partition magic. Then I made a boot-CD for GRUB which would be able to boot RDOS (and other systems, eventually).

RDOS boots ok, but the IDE/AHCI device does not work, and the network driver does not seem to be stable. Other than that, it seems to work. I think it would be possible to fix these issues eventually so I can make the first test-run of our terminal application on a multi-core PC.
