Hi all,
Google Summer of Code is on again this year. The deadline for applications is this Friday, April 9th. We netted several applications from the OSDev community last year, so I thought I'd send out this announcement again.
Here's the deal: Google will pay you $5000 USD (up from last year) to hack on your favorite OS project. For those who are reading Tanenbaum's OS book, this is a great way to dive into Minix 3 development. Check out the Minix 3 GSoC Page, and feel free to propose your own idea. There are a lot of other fine OS projects (FreeBSD, NetBSD, DragonFlyBSD, various Linux distros, etc.) participating as well.
The deadline again for student proposals is April 9th. See the GSoC FAQ for more info. Tell your friends! If you can publicize GSoC at your universities, that would be great too.
