If I have understood you correctly (you're looking for open source GUI OS written in assembly), I suggest you to have a look at MenuetOS.

(Though only the 32 bit version is open source)

Hello,
What is "bad" about those OS's? Why do they have to be open source?

KOS and MeOS are bad because their sources are not well commented?
If it's not that I do not understand you.

MenuetOS are great, Solar_OS and Mojo OS too. And they are closed source. So what?
Where is the problem?
