Hello all,
I have java programming experience of more than 1 year and system administration (mostly linux) experience of 2 years and currently working as sr. system engineer.
I want to get deep and wider into linux system. I want to start kernel module development and finallly device driver programming.
I have started looking into at some of the books Linux Devices Drivers, kernel hacking, kernel programming.... but seems i am lost. Please anyone suggest me how to proceed.

Thank you in advance

With Regards,
Shankar Subedi

Hi,

You seem to have done a good deal of background reading which puts you in good stead! As you have all that theory as a background, is it more the implementation (and using the toolchain) that you need help with? Have you simply tried searching for a basic online driver tutorial, such as This one? Perhaps that would be more useful to you at this stage.

HTH,
Adam

no, the OP is requesting information regarding Linux module development, not home-brew operating system design/programming.
