The thing is I have been hosting my project for a long long time on free servers, but now I am fedup of them, There are so many people out there who host their projects somewhere. Can you people please help me out with this . . .

it's not a project host, but it's web host. I advise you must put a website up otherwise it will get deleted.

If it is a programming project how about opening up a sourceforge account. They give you free webspace, I've got my site there: http://panalix.sourceforge.net/

code.google.com also seems quite good.

TBH though, it's a case of pay peanuts, get peanuts. If you want something really configurable, stable, fast, etc, then you really have to think about paying. You also don't have to put up with ads as much.

Yeah I know about google code. But I am interested in those sites where I can customize the look of my homepage and other stuff. Don't get me wrong. But I really want some site with reliable hosting.

If nothing's gonna help then I'll probably shift to one the sites mentioned above.

Get an account on sourceforge.net... It's highly customizable (for example come to see my website http://jeko.sourceforge.net/ . You can use PHP 5 and MySQL 5)

By the way I have bought a new domain name: magneto.co.in . Now I was thinking that if theres any way by which I could use my free web hosting and real domain name toghether as if the free host never existed

Use google. There is Google code for things like Subversion and stuff but what you probably don't know about is Google Apps (for your domain). http://www.google.com/a/. Google Apps is a little difficult to compare to other free web hosting because it works a little different. Once you sign up for it you want to look at turning on Pages or Sites for your domain. All you need is a register that will do your DNS for you and Google with do everything else for free.
