After two days of racing through an extremely realistic virtual city, I have beat the game Need For Speed - Carbon on the PC. Two days well spent, but left me extremely bored after the 'core' of the game was finished.

The graphics were superb and the characters look incredibly life-like. With that said, it had its downfalls: mainly the lack of storyline flexibility, I was forced to follow the story path that was pre-selected by the developers. Also, there was not as many cars in general as I was expecting (compared to previous NFS's).

The customization ability for the cars was amazing. It was great to have the ability to change/tweak every tiny aspect of the ride. Having a crew was nice too.

Music for this game was deffinately not a strong-point as compared to previous versions. Honestly, I only liked two songs out of the entire soundtrack. Some songs didn't even fit in to the environment in which they were being played.

overall, it was a fun game to play, even though I only found it to be playable for the main storyline. Post-storyline was extremely boring and left me with almost nothing to do and no way to get money for new rides.

RATINGS:
Storyline: 7
Graphics: 9
Sound: 5

I do not like much these series of NFS. The last NFS I found pretty good was NFS Underground 2, then it started to be really boring. You just race, race - and again race - with other players. For example in mafia or GTA, you've got to fullfill missions - chase someone, send some guy regards from the mob boss, etc. Even today I'm playing Mafia, it has a good Czech dubbing from the famous TV actors :)

Okay, you e.g. race in Lotus III from Amiga/DOS, but that is a bit off. The old DOS games just have the "soul" and they aren't stereotype. 8) *Switches on the old PC and starts Wolfenstein 3D*

I like NFS Carbon, I've also been playing it on and off recently. I find it most interesting when in pursuit mode, which is a feature I liked from back in the days of NFS 3: Hot Pursuit (man I loved that game when I first got it :P). The storyline is a little bit boring, and it's especially annoying sometimes because the game cheats (e.g. I was miles ahead of everyone else, suddenly a car starts whizzing up at about twice my speed of about 170mph, overtakes me and wins)

What i like the most is being able to modify and tune your ride.
One of my favirite games of all time i think is "Hot Rod American drag race" or simular.
