Yoga & Pilates?

Recently I have been doing alot of Yoga and Pilates as a way to hopefully lead me to a better body and lifestyle in general.
Some people have a stereotype that those are for women or weak people... eff that! every muscle on my body hurts, even the ones that I didnt know i had. also, Pilates was invented by a guy haha.
I eat alot of shitty food like fast food and microwavable foods. I am not overweight at all, but I am also not a lean/strong individual. Hopefully I can achieve a healthier body and raise my fitness.
The question is if
A: you do either yoga or pilates
B: you have tried/achieved fitness through any sort of diet/exercise routine, and if so, what?

I've been to a few gymnastics classes with my sister. I take the stairs at college a lot (~10 floors - unless I've had a bad morning, or I'm worn out).
EDIT: [sarcasm] We've had polls like "How old are you?" "Which gender are you?" I wouldn't be surprised if the next one is "Who much do you weigh?"
[/sarcasm]

No yoga or pilates.
When I need to relax, I go to meeting house (quaker) and sit there for a while.
When I need to exercise, I take the dog for a walk.

Never heard of Pilates before.
In a perfect world, I would do some running or cycling, some "freestyle forms" (or shadowboxing, a leftover from my days as active martial artist), together with some stretching and calisthenics. I would also have the willpower to cut back on diet coke, chocolate, chips, and burgers.
Unfortunately, in the real world, all these things don't really happen for me.
I did try Tai Chi Chuan classes this year, but either the style or the teacher (or both...) didn't really fit with my previous MA experience. I simply did too much self-defense oriented stuff to get into the flow of Tai Chi. For someone who doesn't have my kind of background, I could imagine it being a good thing to try.

A) I meditate when I feel i can use it.
B) I do sports on friday and saturday, but I don't really need it to stay fit.

As far as just relaxation goes, I meditate as well.
Pilates is an exercise/stretching routine that works the 'core' muscles of the body leading in a lean structure and not a buff one. It builds off of yoga which is a highly elastic exercise routine made to elongate the muscles all while adding more lean muscle.
Running is indeed a great way to stay in shape, but unfortunately it is just entirely too fridged most of the time here. I basically have winter 9 months out of the year. And there is NO WAY I'm doing any excercises in -40f. lol

Yeah, I have to do Yoga and Pilates too (I have bad posture).
I recently got a membership in a health club to use weight rooms and such to get stronger, because I am not too strong.
However:

lol.
I have had to go through a few ergonomics classes for anti-carpal tunnel.
I sill practice good posture while keyboarding because I spend alot of time in this damn chair that any bad posture would be extended over long periods of time and probably result in some discomfort of some sort. .

I do fencing and kayaking. I'm a kayak instructor so it helps. I also go to the gym every morning and do 30 pushups and 30 situps every night.
It doesn't keep me really fit though, I'm not overweight but I'm not fighting fit either. I suppose that's what an office job and free coke at work does to you

Wouldn't free coke make you thin?
