What are good times to visit the osdev IRC channels? I've been on #osdev at irc.freenode.net and irc.wyldryde.org and nobody seems to be alive. There's 74 users on the freenode channel, and only two were alive (me + someone else who didn't know anything about osdev'ing).

I'm not in it (freenode) that often, but when I am, generally in the evenings where I live, which is (thinking...) around 8AM to 11AM GMT/UTC.

Most of the problem is that the channels aren't very well advertised amongst this community. Maybe we need to advertise it more?

You have to wait for your answer (we live in different timezones, many have jobs, etc.), but if you get one it is quite good. At least that was what I experienced and I have been in the #osdev channel on freenode for about a year now.

There is also the german irc channel #lost on euirc, which is also about osdev.

i've experienced that, you go on and someone says something about once every 20 minutes.
