Is that the correct literal translation? I'll be googling Eigentlich momentarily... (And I assume the semantic translation is that the phrase should be written with capital initials?)

Why? The topic sidetracked on the German spelling of something, and I corrected the spelling a bit. Yes, "uppercase..." was a bit terse, but I thought I'd get the message across anyway. (And it's kinda boring if you get a literal translation right away, it keeps you from figuring it out yourself.)

Time for another vote whether we should switch the board to German? Last head count showed us being the largest minority here language-wise.

Ask Leo, that's better than googling. Literally, it would be "Actually, one would have to write that in capitals". Capital "V" because it's the beginning of the sentence, capital "D" because its a noun. (All nouns and names get capitalized in German.)

The last two years of scoll i fought like hell to learn German. I went to the exam twice and... well... Failed twice

Yes, lets change the language to German so that I may make incoherent posts in broken German as I try to write simple sentences using babel fish.

I didn't mean that seriously, just to make sure nobody misunderstands me. By the way, Kevin, your German isn't much worse than some people's English here (which is not exactly praise for your German skills

)...
