A new group?

I have a idea for a open source software group. The main reason I have been thinking of this is because a lot of people have no problems with non free software in a political or moral sense ,but think that open source software has huge advantages for everyone. In short a more BSD styled group instead of GNU views on software.
So what do you think?

What...?
You're going to start your own software group? Like GNU, but BSD? Then wouldn't you be BSD? Or, is it that you're writing an entire BSD operating environment from scratch under a BSD like license?
Good Luck.
PS: Start with a compiler.

Sorry If I wasn't clear. I mean a BSD license like group instead of GNU.
What I'm trying to say is a group like with less restrictions on the license like a BSD license. And to my knowledge BSD is more of a OS family then a software group like GNU But I might be mistaken I just haven't seen a BSD software group?
But It wouldn't be called BSD I'm just saying a similar license.

there is some BSD licensed stuff around...
nwcc is a BSD-licensed C compiler, you could use yasm as the system assembler (which is on-par with GAS considering the x86 platform)
I have yet to find a BSD-licensed linker but I didn't bother looking for one so I don't know wether there is a complete build system to be put together using the BSD license, but its not unlikely.

ACK which was the original C(
And others..) compiler/linker for Minix, It was originally proprietary..
But it's under a BSD/MIT licence now
http://tack.sourceforge.net/
And a lot of other software is under a BSD-like licence..
PHP/SVN/BIND/PostgreSQL and many many more applications...
Anyway.. I still can't see what this guy is getting at though... I've never even head of a "GPL group".
