Earthquake,damaged cables...Anyway happy new year!

Post by m »

As you may have known,a terrible earthquake took place in Taiwan about 1 week ago.It killed 2 people(god bless everyone). :(
Then the main impact of the earthquake is the communication between most eastern part of Asia and other continents, caused by the damage of the undersea cables nearby. Many companies can't do their business properly and millions of people's communication out is stuck.
I then found it true when I wanted to visit here as usual. The connection failed.
The official estimated deadline for repairng the cables is the end of this January. But to my surprise,I can access many foreign websites, which were stuck several days ago,at a normal speed since yesterday.I find many new posts and changes in the wiki with a joy.
In the past year since I joined here,I really learned a lot and I'm fond of the atmosphere here.I just want to say thanks to everyone in OSDev.
It may be a little late to greet you for the coming of 2007,anyway I wish you all a happy new year and wish you'll make new progress/succeed in your OS projects in this year, and forever! :P

Welcome back! I'm going to cross my fingers that the cable is restored soon. Good luck on your OS!
