Komodo: Looking for Developers

Post by xfurious »

Also posted in Project Announcements, but reposted here because it makes more sense:

Hello, I am developing an operating system based on GNU/Linux called Komodo. The concept is to apply modern operating system design to Linux, without the way legacy Linux does things in our way. I use Mono and C# for most custom-written parts of Komodo. I've written a boot system using Mono which supports both boot task group DLLs and BASH scripts. I've changed the filesystem heirarchy to promote user understanding and to take into account the increased reliance on package-specific and access-specific (as in system, local, user domains) folders. Many more details on the site.

If you're a Linux developer, interested in playing around with it, I can supply the source code for any of it (GPLed of course) and I hope to be polishing up an ISO to start seeding with bittorrent if I can get feedback on the concepts. We (me and two of my non-developer friends) operate a forum at http://linuxngd.komodolinux.org/, although it's been near desolate recently. I also post information at my blog (http://komodolinux.org/wp/).

I've been working on it for a few months now and would like to start getting feedback and start looking for developers who are interested in coauthoring it.
