actually, im just kinda pissed, because everyone used to get upset that i posted too much and all that other ****, but now i dont anymore, and you kinda do, and no one cares. i dont know. maybe im talking nonsense.

I post no more that SGREEN or MR.T (JUST EXAMPLES...) ummm...I think that someone needs to answer my PHP question...(chris, junc, ANYONE?!??!) id really be most greatful...

He may have 1000 on this board, but I have over 5000 total from ALL the boards I visit.

Those where only a few boards I visit and post on, there is alot more. Anyway, smg reached his high post count through spam, he responds to every single post even if he doesn't know what it is about or has anything to do with him at all. My posts are all worthwhile to read and not SPAM(well except 2 of the topics I started anyway... the 1000 one and the one where I got my 5th star).

No matter how much we let SMG know that his SPAM posts annoy us he still continues to do it. So, no Joey, don't be mad. I'm sure everyone is glad that you stopped spamming the board. I think everyone gives SMG a decent amount of a hard time about it. Mr T and Sgreen both have kept a consistent posting rate. When I first came to this board SMG had less than 30 posts. Then Chris brought up hitting 1000, and all of the sudden SMG became one of the biggest posters. At this point it just really irritates me. It is completely irrational that something so trivial irritates me, but, well it does. SMG, this doesn't mean that I don't like YOU, it means that I don't like your SPAM.

I regards to your question SMG: If you don't know what to do with PHP then why did you download PHPTriad? Don't just use PHP "because everyone else is". I use PHP because it is a very useful server side language. I don't have to worry about people that visit my site having to install some sort of plug-in to visit my site. I have yet to solve this problem with Flash. Anyway, my point is, you can do pretty much anything you want with it. What are your needs? Chris's random-grabby script has done almost everything I was thinking of doing. Eventually, after my game is finished, I want to write a "blogger" type script, I would like to set up a database for my music and use PHP to access it...but all of this is a lot of programming skill away.

So,

1. figure out why you want it...

2. Learn the language

Just a suggestion, if you are going to put that much time and effort into programming something for your website don't you think it's time to let go of GeoCities?

I let go of Geocities to get a Patat account...he hosts PHP so i am going to use it there...Now...my maind PHPTriad problem is that when i open it, it closes back immediately...is this supposed to be a MSDOS program?

I looked back at most of my posts in the past month...

i agree that 30% of them were stupid and shouldnt have been posted

20% of them was ME defending myself about you people saying that i spam... ::)

the 50% left was spent responding to posts that either I started or someone asked me to respond to...

(You know who this is....if you dont want my response...dont ask for it in an IM..)

If you guys have such a pissed off mind about my post count...ask df to change it to zero...i could care less... ::) (i know you can do this because i ADMIN boards too...if you dont know the ADMIN goes into MODIFY in someones profile and then at teh bottom where it says post count, you change the number.... ::))


Anyways...you guys rock ;D I am going to make a YaBB
board when my Patat account gets set up...it wont be by boardnation yay!

Is a YaBB board that is not by someone like board nation hard to set up? i might need someone's help with it sometime.

It is very easy to set up a YaBBSE board. And just so you know there are 2 versions of YaBB:

YaBB(perl/flatfile) most hosts do not allow YaBB to be used.
YaBB SE(php/mysql) a server friendly and great port of YaBB to php, your host will not have a problem with this version.

There is 2 different kind of installs, the safe mode install and the normal install. You need to use the safe mode version if your host has safe mode enabled in the php.ini settings. Otherwise I strongly recommend using the regular installation because it installs all the files and chmods them properly for you.

Upload all files to the site, then run install.php from your browser to install it. Be sure to delete install.php after it is installed otherwise it leaves a tiny hole open where your board can be hacked.

Pretty easy to install... infact it is the easiest board I have found to date to install.

For pete's sake leave poor ol' smg alone. At least he doesn't post third party advertisements for penis enlargement devices, porn and/or viagra. Not to mention he didn't stage a mock fight on the board just to get his agi game promoted either.

Besides...discussions about smg's posting habits are reserved for the "...abuse of..." thread that has been going on for 7 pages now.

Guru = God. You are calling him a God. That is not good.

Define god first...not all gods are good and not all are bad...if you consider that by designating smg the word guru, you thus compare him to the one God known by diverse descendants of the one judaic faith, then yes that would be bad. But if you call him a spam god, that's different.

smg is definately not a spam god...you couldn't possibly see other members messages if he was...
