problem with win-98
Re:problem with win-98
Oh, I monitor that with my Bios. CPU temperature never rises above 35?C and mobo temperature never above 30?C
Re:problem with win-98
It's actually used by the operating system for turning the computer off, putting it to sleep, hibernation, standby, Plug and Play and temperature management with on-the-fly adjustments.
Re:problem with win-98
Hmm... well... yeah, Win98SE sucks arse when it comes to Plug'n Play. Couldn't get dad's USB HD working, even after installing drivers, while on XP and on Debian, it's just plugging in and it's working (well, got to mount it in Debian). Aside from PnP horror, it's rather fine, though.
Re:problem with win-98
I remember once, when I still used 98SE, I got a random BSOD when burning a CD. Never happened before or since. odd
Also, I once had an old hard disk which I saved my files to (a second drive). The few months I had that old second drive, I installed win98 meany times (about once a week in fact) because the sodding thing kepped popping back into MS-DOS compatibility mode ide drivers. To repair that I had to reinstall. Never found out why.
