Well that's the reason why we don't have a British-company as big as Microsoft in the UK
We? You live in Wisconsin... :S

Plus, have you heard of ARM? Arguably they're bigger than M$...

Bigger perhaps as in Widespread... obviously they don't sell anything new as my Secondary School Science Labs were still packed with BBC Micro's.

Seriously though, ARM are massive, it's true, i never seem to think of the modern ARM as being as English as the old Acorn ARM. Unfortunately for Microsoft in England, Software is still so misunderstood by the European Unions "Legal department", they are making doing business illegal.

Ha, getting your degree in a proper country: I like it! ;) I've still got a year of my BEng to do after my work placement is over, then I've got to work out where to do my MSc :(. Oxford (HA HA HA like I'll get in there), Durham and York are on my agenda. Unfortunately I'm already at York, and can't change course to the 5 year one 'cos it's too late :( That means I'm going to have to pay ridiculous amounts of fees. Sucks.

Still, At least I'm not XCHG: Ha! Those massive fees you're paying the uni of sussex because you're an abroad student must leave a dent in your pocket!

:D

Oh by the way, ARM is making (according to Wikipedia), only 45 million GBP annually while Microsoft's net income in 2007 is 14 Billion USD. Is ARM UK's biggest company? If yes, I wonder how much the rest of them make  Seriously! 45 Million GBP is roughly 91,952,550 USD that is almost 92 million USD. That is a really small amount of money to the net-income of 14 Billion USD.

No. I did a search but couldn't find any rankings, unfortunately. But we do have Virgin - and Richard Branson is pretty well off. Don't know by how much though. You have to remember also that Britain is much smaller than the US, and also capitalism doesn't run an unchecked riot here.
