^is AmigaOS-hardcore-User :-)

Terry Pratchett reads best in the english original versions. *gg* Much of the fun he makes of language gets "lost in translation" (but not in japan, like old Bill Murray)

^^ got it right about reading humorous novels in their native language. Make that any novel.

And, hardcore AmigaOS user? Last Amiga hardware 1999, last booting of an Amiga emulator sometime in 2001... but I miss the golden times, and long for an OS to bring back "elegance through simplicity"...

^ likes windows vs. linux jokes!

Man, most hobbyist schedulers offer synchronization primitives to avoid race conditions, now we get struck by this on a message board! :P;D

cheers Joe

^^ is like me a couple of years ago: Very much aware of how things should be, and not yet disenchanted enough by how things are. (Be careful, there's a bucket full of depression waiting for you. :-\ )

Is the first part of your statement meant to be some kind of compliment? (very much aware of how things should be...) ;D

I know, my biggest problem is probably that I still have to learn that I can't always get my head through. Especially in IT, where teamwork is quite everything, you'll have to compromise at some point. ::)

But if everything was like it should be, we would all be bored to death, I guess. And nothing prevents you from occasionally changing things. ;)

^ seems to have some good advice at hand.

^has always another animated avatar *gg*

@JoeKayza:

Ah, Teamwork ... As much as I despise this in the commonly traeded form, alas, sometimes one needs to give in. I rather work on one project myself, get work done instead of all this overhyped blahblah they consider teamwork nowadays. If someone needs loads of talk to get a grip of what's due to be done I for one don't need him in my team. I rather have ppl who look and understand and are able to work hand in hand.

Afterall there needs to be one who says: This way we are going. Period.

BTW: That's why the styrians always need a permission of trespassing for the semmering in order to come to vienna. *roffl*

^^ never had an avatar IIRC.

I just got told that the dealine is in three weeks - and that I should start working on it with another programmer who hasn't worked on the subject till now.

::)

Stupid, stupid, stupid...

^likes to present medieval art of living on some occasions. Knows the meaning of "bruche" and how to play "bruchenball" *gg*

oh well, some of these managers seldom *know* everything else but their statistics and bleh. That'swhere some of their moronic decisions come from. And, to come to the point, assigning you a programmer who knows **** about the current project - even lest but a fleas fart about what you're doing - *and* setting a short deadline - that's really a poor decision. Doesn't show wits. Why not assigning programmer who knows what's going on? Work 'd advance much faster!

Oh well, there is humans and there's managers.

re avatars: Pype 's been so friendly to lend me one of his artwork to make an avatar of it. Shortage of time due to attending an university of applied science has hindered me so far to turn on the gimp. *gg*

A stock response until I find out: does our statement about ^ have to be true? Cause this game is a lot more fun when you can lie outrageously.
