hmm, Well I've used Office 97, 200 and XP and they've never trashed a document on me, ever. Anyway these days I use Wordperfect 11, along with OpenOffice, nice.

One older example, Digita Wordworth on the Amiga, I loved version 2, but 3 and up ruined it, in the end I switched to Final Writer.

(Welcome back Candy BTW)

Corel though did have this nasty thing (in CorelDRAW they still have) of cramming as much onto a toolbar as possible, so you may have two edit boxed etc in the hight of one!

Ahh I have another Upgrade to crap, Delphi. 1, 2, 3 Great. 4 Buggy, 5 6 7 better, but 8 yuck! It's .NET, but even worse, it's not very good at .NET, IMHO this is the first time that Borland has made an Inferior Visual Product to Microsoft.

The Greatest thing that Borland did wrong though was forget who put them there. The little guy. In the early days, their products were cheaper and better, now their very expensive, only of real use to Big companies (the Standard Versions are really limited and you can't distribute what you make) and a bit also ran (Win32 Delphi is still better than anything MS has come up with IMHO).

Is this the site you are talking about???

For me (and alot of the people I know) one of the worst upgrades has been opera. Version 7 is great but then they had to come out with version 7.5 with everything 'helpfully' intergrated. The new interface is TERRIBLE, I actually hate it. I will not be upgrading from 7.23 until they remove all the 'useful' crap such as the IRC client from it. If I want an IRC client I will use mIRC, if I want a big crap toolbar that gets in the way of everything I will install the leaked version of windows longhorn.

Yes, thank you, that is exactly what I was talking about. That's one that's going right up my Bookmarks.
