New or Old layout?

I tend to agree with the general attitude. This color scheme is too bright. Experimenting with other color schemes is fine, too, but I would agree that the old scheme worked fine the way it was. It may not be the most beautiful scheme in the world, but it was much more usable than this one.

As for the completely on topic reply, it should be a lot darker. As most people here are more likely to be used to sitting at a computer for a long time, darker screens wear your eyes out less fast (6 hrs vs something like 18-24 hours) and most unix users know the consoles which by default (except sun sparc + solarises) are black.

I think that you should be able to choose which one you want. DF, please install such a patch.

As for the less on topic reply, this is one of the very few boards where I come back because it is full of content. I do not want to be attracted by design, that's not going to hold for long, and if you switch to a design I don't like I would leave.
Quality over quantity.

And for that quality issue, could you please make the pages HTML compliant again? I personally resent every page that is not compliant, and am thinking about making a browser but don't want to do the kludge-html-parser.

Main complaince problems:
- Color constants between quotes
- Close tags that should be closed (font) and do not close those that never are actually open (img)
- tables may only appear in the body and in a TD, not in a plain table

and that's all. Should be a breeze to fix. TIA

PS, imho the title does look better this way, although the other one was pretty good too. Anyone want a poll on that?

This theme-choosing mod sounds interesting though. I'll definitely install it on my own board.
Anyways, I'm glad it's back to its dark self again. Any other dark scheme would do, actually, as long as it doesn't hurt the eyes so much as bright themes
