It comes from 'lame'. Got lots of those when trying to set up an irc-bot. Everything you had to change said 'lame' or, when it was referring to a person, 'llama'. It's just saying that you're too lame to change it.

That still doesn't answer the reason why they put it as a default personalized message.

Yes it does. It says "you're too lame to change that text."
Or, more clearly: "You're lame if you don't even bother about changing the personalised message."
