Do you happen to know the type of chip used for the GBIT lan? Is it a RTL8169?

It's built-in to the nForce4...Not sure of anything else

The Linux driver for the chipset is called something along the lines of "Reverse Engineered nForce Networking Controller" so I'd take a guess that it isn't RTL compatible .
