I was unable to find the original article, but still, it might be of interest.
It's regarding the hard drive from the Columbia space shuttle.

That wasn't that much o a feat, though it did stay at the bottom of a river for a long time, the platters don't seem to have been snapped by the explosion. so it shouldn't have been to hard.... (With right equipment)
