Some people ask questions that could be found on the web, but they ask them in such a way that makes it easy and fun to answer. Since when I think about it: someone has to put it up for it to be found. (I find a lot of links to forums about issues I search.)

I would be tempted to say that you can find allmost any answer you require on the web, however it can often be difficult figuring out the exact search terms to use and even if you do the very specific and advanced search you will often find you self in the situation that either you have to look through hundreds of hits to find you answer or look through just as many to find alot lot of topics that partly answers your question and then put them together often ending up very confused. Then theres the cases when you think you find the answer but you have actually been misinformed or cant find an answer at all.
Also the search on the web is a one way communication and if there is something you dont understand, well... then youre back at the forum.

Yeah I would agree. I even sometimes will ask a question in the forum that can be easily found. It's just that sometimes being able to have a 2 way discussion is nice. I also ask questions in the forum about software recommendations. Yeah sure you can do a google search, but a google search doesn't always find good and spyware free software.

Im glad im not the only one
Anyway, im only saying that you cant know everything about everything, im actually quite good a using google. me entering STFW into google and nothing more was just to give an example.
Some things are actually very hard to look up in google and you sometimes have to use very complex search criteria to get what you want. My search criterias fx. can easily be 100 letter long, dependent on what im searching for.
fx. (just an example)
Code: Select all
intitle:"index.of" (ebook|e.book) "harry.potter" pdf -htm -asp -php
I hate trying to search for things that occur naturally on most pages (i.e .NET stuff)
