meh...
the only useful math I've seen so far has been about 1/2 of Algebra(especially solving equations, graphing, and basic things like matrices) and almost all of Geometry....

There's math that's not useful?

ok hckr83, but how do you calculate more complex as an engineer, pressure on submersives when building bridges, or rates of change for seemingly simple things like whether a steel beam can navigate through a corridor? math is essential for solving many problems in real world, and it extends well beyond algebra 2 and geometry.

@ hckr83:
Well, let's see... I will be relocating to my childhood's home town in a couple of months, because my mom died and I inherited the house and everything. Really looking forward to it.
I'm looking for a job in the area. Finally an opportunity to get out of the banking software treadmill and working on something
interesting.
Now there's a company two streets away (!!) working on real-time automation, embedded systems, driver programming, the real stuff. I salivate just thinking about it.
Job requirements:
- advanced C/C++ skills - check.
- experience in microC and real-time programming - you can't have everything.
- near-perfect technical English - check.
- ability to design mathematical algorithms and implement them in code - well...
Because I didn't hang in there during math lessons, my hit-miss ratio for the requirements of my dream job went down from 3/4 to 2/4.
That's life for you.
