I once read an interesting article on how language affects music. Maybe rock is the logical result of the English language...

Then how do you explain the moving trend away from Rock to dance/pop/"R'n''B"/Really bad Hip Hop? I find it does affect the style though. You can always tell English Rock from German Rock, or most uniquely, Japanese Rock.

Teen slang becoming more common? The language becoming less formal? just a guess...

I like Deicide... just conisder them nothing compared to Opeth. Either of you like Dying Fetus? They are incredibly extreme but about as technical as it gets.

odd

Post by kubeos »

I guess I'm the odd one out here.. :)

I like club (as in dance and rave), hip hop, and some R&B. Not too much into metal or rock but do like a few songs here and there, like a couple ACDC songs and Metallica but only after a few beers.

Guess I'm into the dance mostly because I like going clubbing. The dance is also really fun when whipping down the highway at 110mph. Done that a few times this month just to get some adrenaline going.

Haven't heard of either of them, but then again I've mellowed out a lot in the last decade. :)

I do listen to Cannibal Corpse occasionally, though.

Cannibal Corpse? Dying Fetus? Such...err...'interesting' names....Why don't any of these bands have happy names? :D Maybe they should be more creative in their naming...

I don't see what is not creative about those names? Just because you don't like the theme. I like to listen to music that expresses more than a single emotion, the aggression of Death Metal can be incredibly enjoyable at times. Opeth on the other hand just hand you the entire spectrum from Classical Piano Music all the way up to the most beautfiul Death Grunts.
