What Religion are you?
Wow your stupid... if i have to repeat once more that i don't feel frustrated (at least not about wanting to prove God is fictional, your stupidity on the other hand is most annoying) i think i will just give up trying to tell you something very basic.
In baby terms... People get annoyed, when stubborn people don't see things there way. Do you think you can manage to understand that without reading inbetween none existent lines?
I don't really get what your bullshit about the pledges in schools is about, but i am a supporter of the forcing children in England to sing the national anthem at all School Assemblies, despite my views on Religion.
I didn't reference Columbine... i Referenced a game that happened to be based on it's events because of the ending... please stop making things up.
I also Don't see sex as the be all and end all of life, that is a very Religious concept, for people who beleive we have been conditioned purely to continue the species, please don't try to guess my views.

Then WHY do you keep making references to feeling frustration?Ok well take my word for it... if you have ever felt frustration over anything stupid, that is how people who argue the toss that God isn't real feel. I don't because i'm not fussed either way, i've stated at least three times that i don't want to change anyones mind. Also my comment about Columbine Tech was made, firstly because i thought that was a kick @$$ ending to a boring game and secondly because i was unsure how serious you were being with your repent comment.
Are you the new representative of Atheist people, whom feels no personal connection to what you argue about?
Alright then I change my point to you using the events of Columbine with a threshold of accuracy being meet instead of the point of you referencing the actual Columbine event.. hmm makes good sense.. Yes.I didn't reference Columbine... i Referenced a game that happened to be based on it's events because of the ending... please stop making things up.
I think the events are the point. You idiot. You big idiot.
So.. it is not the be all and end all. Which would mean to me that there is more to life, and that we are not driven by primitive mechanisms. So I am considering this is your way of saying you do not want to apply a scientific or logical way of thinking to this aspect of life.I also Don't see sex as the be all and end all of life, that is a very Religious concept, for people who beleive we have been conditioned purely to continue the species, please don't try to guess my views.
Oh. So all the sudden.. . this scientific thinking does not apply but only to religion, right? Great. So where did all this logical thinking go that was such a pivot to your argument about things?
This is getting really boring.. here is the comment you made which i originally quotedKevin McGuire wrote:

Quite clearly says you don't understand the frustration taht drives people to become so argumentative. I then made about 5 attempts to help you understand, purely because i thought you wanted to learn and not be an *******... and then you continue to not realise that i really don't give a **** about the religious thing and am just trying to help you, of course you decide to forget the begining of the conversation leading to your comment...Kevin McGuire wrote: I mean what in the bible OR in the thought of God existing gets people so argumentative that they just have to absolutely prove that it is false. It makes no sense to me..
Obviously you seem to think we were discussing something else, becasue all i have been doing is trying to help you understand the frustration felt, l becasuse you couldn't understand...Kevin McGuire wrote: Then WHY do you keep making references to feeling frustration?
I am sorry if there was some communication breakdown, but understand, the frustration is all i have been discussing in my last 6 or so posts while you have been getting more and more off topic.Kevin McGuire wrote: It makes no sense to me..
This time i beg you not to try and read inbetween any none existant lines, i beg you to take the time to slowly read it and understand, as i have tried to explain, all i am trying to do is help you see why people get frustrated when they "think" people are being stupid because we are all incredibly stubborn about our believes and i know no one here would ever change there believe and i don't wish to change them.

Preface
I do not talk about Columbine events and Hitler is some twisted perverted manner that has no obvious reasoning.
1940's Germany did not rid the idea of God, i really don't see where you got that idea from. Hitler may have been ruthless to his people but they never lost their understanding of their Ethics.
I guess we should place this one with the Columbine remark.
Tempting offer... but i'm all packed and setup for hell i am afraid. After playing the Columbine Tech RPG and finding out Hell is just like Doom, well i can't wait.
This is obviously the craziest remark I have ever heard. I am still trying to understand..
I do not make comments that make no sense.
I punched God the other day and my fist went right through him though, strange, almost like God is a fictional being... no... it couldn't be. There is no way a being made up by men to control other men is not real, by definition the fact that raving lunatics made him up must make him real.
What in the world was this suppose to prove? It is like me saying I punched George W. Bush and my first went right though him.. so he could not exist. You make absolutely no sense.
i will spend my every waking hour trying to disprove the obvious fiction that is God if you can disprove that the Lord of the Rings Trilogy did not take place exactly as written in the books in some distant planet millions of Galaxies away.
I can not even interpret what in the world you mean by some of you comments? And, when people want you to clarify them you give some balant bull or completely change what you meant.
I do not continually disrespect others beliefs by using divine names in a vulgar manner.
The truth in my opinion is that God doesn't exist and Jesus was not his son, just a nuttah, each to their own though.
Why would someone who is so respectful of other's religions beliefs call someone those people would take as a very divine figure and use a controversial word such as 'nuttah'? I am sure it is short hand for nothing, but why not say something more respectful like, "..and Jesus was not his son, just someone who did a lot of thought to be miraculous acts..".
Obviously Christ was a Raving Lunatic, i'm sure you would think the same of me if i attempted to convince you that my old man was God and that my Moral Believes were some how Universal.
Here is a suggestion which is so obvious that Christ is raving lunatic.. What happened to being respectful of others beliefs?
Helping Me Understand
I can believe you, if you say you are, trying to help me understand people's frustration. The problem is you make no in depth point when trying to help me understand. Your analogy of the world and the discovery that it is round and having no one believe you makes absolutely no in depth point. Your point is very similar to comparing tomatoes to bananas simply because they are fruits when what we are talking about is very specific to the tomato.
Hopefully you can read my condensed previous posts (below) and see that I do not need to understand why since I have already come to the conclusion that there is no reason since it does not hurt anyone to believe that God does exist.
As I have stated in my previous posts which I will condense here for you:
Umm... and that was more like a scientific discovery that further advanced our knowledge and understanding of the world. Which is exactly why I can not understand how proving that the bible or God is mythology is going to help you.
The only basis I could imagine you are fixated on is that you have been lied to. Of course you will get lied to all though out life. Being lied to about some religious matter should hardly be any concern when taking into context marriage, work, and social things. Do you not have bigger fish to fry?
Why would there be any reason to disprove the existence of God anyway? I mean did he spoil your fun? I can assure you that I do not walk around telling everyone that God does not exist. Simply because it definitely does less harm for people to think he does, than to think he does not exist.
I mean what in the bible OR in the thought of God existing gets people so argumentative that they just have to absolutely prove that it is false. It makes no sense to me..
So what? I know someone here made the argument that a link between religion and control on society were evident and proven in history. But, who cares? It was a long time ago and I think people in the twenty-first century have a much more advanced view on the world and it working - which by the way I can also deduce from the many number of people that come up with the "logical" reasons why he does not exist. So what?
You have proven that the so referenced as "mind control" could never take grip on you.. It seems like a win win situation to me. Frankly, blabbering on and on about how God does not exist and why -- is just as bad in my opinion as the people who blabber on and on about how he does exist.
Anyway, you can not even correctly spell words, or structure sentences properly! How is anyone supposed to ever know what YOU are talking about?

this whole thread
this entire thread is becoming stupid. i mean, you atheists can hide behind reality if you want and use fallacies all day pretending that you "have it all together" Scientists believe that the big bang (if they are evolutionists) was caused by a nuclear explosion of Uranium 235 and hydrogen atom ( i think). Atheists believe these molecules cam from nothing. it is STUPID!! SOMETHING CANNOT COME FROM NOTHING!!! its common sense!! the argument should end there!!!
oh microsoft, microsoft, what souls you have dismayed

Thanks for the agreement. We humans pick the most simple things to argue about don't we...

Re: this whole thread
That's a nice variation on the idea of quantum fluctuations. According to the big bang theory it took 250,000 years before the universe cooled down to the point where hydrogen atoms could form; let alone the heavier elements like uranium. Not that I hold any brief for atheism.com1 wrote:Scientists believe that the big bang (if they are evolutionists) was caused by a nuclear explosion of Uranium 235 and hydrogen atom ( i think).
How much simpler does it get... i am not arguing anything, i don't want to change anyone's mind and i have not mentioned God for quite a few posts mostly because that topic is incredibly boring. I don't know how more blunt my last post could have been. The only reason you are going on about that with me despite me talking about something completely different is because you feel insecure, i really cannot be assed any more.Kevin McGuire wrote:I agree Com1. Tyler, lost the argument since he is a Atheist.
Here is our argument condensed...
Tyler: God Is fake
Kevin: God is real
etc
etc
Kevin : I can't understnad why people argue about it
Tyler : Ah well people get frustated, heres an example of a time you might feel exactly the same frustration.
Kevin : God is real, your stupid
Tyler : I didn't say he wasn't, i've moved on i was simply trying to give you an example of the feeling that causes frustration and argumentative attitude
Kevin : God is real, here's some posts i made earlier and and and and shut up, your losing this argument!!
Tyler : I'm not arguing, i was just telling you why people get frustrated. You are being an absolutely retard.
Kevin : I don't get you atheists how can you say God isn't Real, you are being lied to! Repent! Cliche!
Tyler : Ok then.. as i said.. i am not discussing that anymore, who the hell are you even talking to, stop quoting my posts.

I am greek orthodox. some people say its not christian. but it is. my dad is my father (like a priest or pastor some call them). i don't think it's much to argue about. if someone said that they don't belive in God or Jesus then i do not care because that does not concern me. What people believe is their thing and what i believe is mine! i dont know why some people argue or get in to fights about this. i saw this bumper sticker:
"The Big Bang Theory:
God said it and BANG it was there"
oh BTW: what is Atheist. i never heard of it!

I really don't want to get into an argument with anyone but I just had a few questions to ask.
@Religious people: Where does God come from. Did someone (or something) create him/her/it?
Me being a non-believer have a somewhat similar question to ask myself: If there is no God then where did the universe come from? I usually answer that question the same way that most religious people would answer the above question, It has always existed.
I have never really had a problem with religion, I was baptized when I was like 8 or something and I always went to church as a child. I just grew up and started questioning things and forming my own opinions. I just refuse to believe is something that is supposed to be so good and great and that lets 100s of thousands of people die horrible deaths each day.
I just personally would rather just die (or come back as a bird) and that be the end than to get up and praise some ultimate being everyday for the rest of eternity. Sounds kind of boring to me. Well thats all I had to say.

God has always been there and always will be there. It's not really something to question, I guess. It's one of those things beyond our reasoning. (Another being how the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are God, but the are not the same.)frank wrote:@Religious people: Where does God come from. Did someone (or something) create him/her/it?
And I do believe your idea of heaven is somewhat wrong. It's not as if you will be evermore praising God, but that you will be in eternal happiness. I don't think there's need to question if one will 'like' heaven, it will be perfect and wonderful beyond our wildest dreams.
As for the horrible deaths, what about it? People die. If they are Christian, what is death? Death is no more horrifying than going to a grocery store. God uses death to bring us from this life to the next. If they are Christian, they'll get their reward. All is well. Painful death? No such thing. (As for those who don't believe, I guess there is no such hope...)
And I am having the hardest time adjusting to this new fangled 'ergonomic' keyboard. Although, it is so very comfortable...

Heaven would be more of a peaceful earth.. no one (besides Jesus Christ) has come back from Heaven or from Hell in that matter. Heaven i don't think is hard. Some people are forgiven of their sins. This would be a Confession or a Prayer. And I do believe your idea of heaven is somewhat wrong. It's not as if you will be evermore praising God, but that you will be in eternal happiness. I don't think there's need to question if one will 'like' heaven, it will be perfect and wonderful beyond our wildest dreams.
Well When you die. You Temporarily live in Heaven or Hell. Hell is supposed to be an fiery and unforgiving place. but i also heard that Hell is Death. Unlike Heaven where you do LIVE in eternal Happiness. also i have heard this:As for the horrible deaths, what about it? People die. If they are Christian, what is death? "And on the Judgment Day, All living and the dead will rise before
our lord and savior, Jesus Christ""
On this day, at the end of the world Jesus will tell us where we will live for ever.
