What is important for me in music is artists who play what is not immediately obvious. The New Pornographers are great in this regard.

i have a mix of favorites. my brothers the same way. he showed me a lot of metallica and country when i was like 4, he was like 15... my cousins listened to Jimmy buffet. So far ive been to 2 Jimmy Buffet Concerts. nothing else.
