AWESOME! Board of Developers Website!

All off topic discussions go here. Everything from the funny thing your cat did to your favorite tv shows. Non-programming computer questions are ok too.

AWESOME! Board of Developers Website!

Post by com1 »

I created the Board of Developers. Its a place where developers around the world, no matter what programming language, can come and post their source, get current weather, post in the forums, play the games, and other things. I hope to make it very popular. I added a widget that shows the IP Address of the User, and other things like that. You can even do a google search, or directly download programs. Come visit my site at:

Wow a poorly designed website on a Free Web host with a proprietary flash games section.

This is very unprofessional... but it is funny..

So thanks for the quick laugh..

It's not a bad site, but the ads are bothersome, and it seems as if it doesn't format correctly in Firefox.

I would go for a free service that was a sub-domain or folder of another site, instead of having a domain name. The ads are like wumpus....

PS: I would avoid too much flash and widgets. Personally, I don't care that much what my IP address is, and I'm somewhat confused about the whole game things.

Really, its a very nice idea, but if you really want to make i "popular", alot of planing is needed.
first of i suggest you get a proper host, its really not that expensive as long as the traffic is somewhat limited, and if you get rit of all those gadgets and stuff that nobody want anyway...
secondly, as the site is getting well know and getting more users, people are gonna expect thing to be in order, links working, various updates, etc. Its not gonna be a picnic.

if you need af server for testing and stuff, i can lend you some space at http://zacariazdisciples.net that i dont use anyway, and if you need help in other ways, im allso ready to chip in, allthough my time is somewhat limited.

The bottom line, its a good idea, and if you are up to the challence of doing things properly, ill definently gonna use your site.
regards

Gr8 site but I h8 ads. :) At least foreign and not my, advertising banners :D
I don't know if somebody will be excited to visit that...
Hey, do the .TK disabled THEIR ads for free? :) I am searching for a real domain though, not the tokelau islands domain,... Or you paid for that?

I can disable the URL redirector mechanism then and keep the TK.. until they will re-activate the advertising...

If your webhosting allows you to use a domain name(for free) then you can go to afraid.org and get a free, ad-free domain(actually subdomain like *.biz.tm)

that's what I did, and it works great!
