Anybody know the "correct" way to pronounce linux? I've just always called it "Lynn Ucks" (read out loud)
I have heard "Line Ucks" though and it sounds weird.
I have an 80386SX 20MHz 2MB RAM.
It is my testbed platform. Only has the 3.5" and 5.25" floppy drives.

The way Linus Torvalds himself pronounces Linux is "Lee-nooks", but none of the English-speaking world seems to follow suit. ;)
Top three reasons why my OS project died:
  1. Too much overtime at work
  2. Got married
  3. My brain got stuck in an infinite loop while trying to design the memory manager
Don't let this happen to you!

Lyn-icks for me. I know it ends in 'ux' but from watching webcasts and talking with friends, it's some turned into an 'icks'. Icks, ecks, ucks; if you say it fast enough, no one can tell!

I just call it bob.. 8)

But more frequently I refer to the system as:
"The UNIX-like system with the creepy bird logo.."

And the users as:
"Windows users who switched to Linux but continue to follow a flawed philosophy which allows them to pollute their kernel with binary blobs (drivers).."

 It's pronounced lyn-icks here normally.. (Lyn as in the Womans name..)

What's so bad about binary blobs? man thats sad... It means you're forced to trust what some random programmers are doing with code that's probably going to be running at a lower privilege level..

I don't have such faith in humanity.. I'm proud to say the only binary "blob" on my system is my BIOS.. sadly this was unavoidable :(

You have to trust the open source code too, or do you read it and compile it yourself to be sure it doesn't delete your files?

Well, I obviously don't compile something full of shellcode!!

And yes I do review everything.. it should be mandatory..

My Giddy Aunt!!!!!! Are you referring to TUX!!?This is what started the Spanish Inquisition! I think this calls for an excommunication! Now, where's the Inquisitor!?

In all seriousness(As much as possible, that is; we are talking about a fictitious penguin.) don't mock Tux. Tux is your friend. It's just...just...cruel......

Is that even a question!? Obviously, you haven't seen him angry. You wouldn't like him when he's angry.

EDIT: Removed 2015: Imageshack replaced all links with spam.

Mildly entertaining..
