It looks like "teen" slang to me.. gr8t = gr(eight) = great..

I hate such obscure dialects of English..

I would guess a double T, or "great-t", pronounced like grated.

It seems like a fine OS, except it doesn't run properly on QEMU, it displays some weird characters after "Testing vbe... Done" and it didn't switch to VESA properly.
On Bochs it shows a black screen after "Testing vbe...".

Tested on QEMU 0.8.1, Bochs 2.3

Yeah... it is because I haven't developed anything much in it....

But you can edit the source code to run it the way you want. Those wierd screens were just test the functions.....

I would appreciate if you people could review the arch. of my OS. I am asking that because I have used OOP with C++ for developing it. I think OOP can provide better security for any OS....

Anyway, you tried PortixOS? It is a very stable system, even it is 16-bit :)

Looks like inflater desperately wants someone to test his OS

No no , combuster had already that OS tested, but I didn't see PortixOS crashing either on QEMU, Bochs (2.2.6 & 2.3), VMware Workstation, Virtual PC 2004 and on 2 real hardwares :D so you can *very gently* show off your work, either it is simple or complicated ;)

It seems that you people are thinking that Magneto doesn't work!

Well, It does work. The only thing is that I haven't used any INTERACTION in it. I have only developed the functions and tested it if they are working or not. I released it this way because I wanted to realease a version of it soon ;)

I am working on it and will release a stable version really soon.... More over I planned a diff. architecture of my OS which I found nowhere, therefore I wanted you people to review the source code and it's arch. and tell me if it's good or not? So that I could continue to develope further or whether I should chnage the arch or not!

Sorry if you people didn't find anything useful....

Well, It does work.
All I see after booting from Bochs is a black screen after Testing VBE. I typed something to the keyboard, moved the mouse and nothing happened, except BOCHS panics after 2-3 minutes of idle time - SIGNAL 2 caught...
The only thing is that I haven't used any INTERACTION in it.
Yes, I understand, you tested the functions if they work or not. But not all people on this forum can program in C++ and they wanna see full power of your operating system, not by modyfing the code...

That's good, keep up the good work. ;)
or whether I should chnage the arch or not!
If your OS isn't targeted to machines like Macintosh, GBA, or even MT firmware :D, i think Intel's x86 (i386,i486,i586) architecture is good for your OS.
