BIOS/Chipset

Post by Tyler »

Is the BIOS part of the chipset, specific to the chipset (but seperate), or simply contains knowledge on all supported chipsets?

Well.. tinyBIOS for example has various chipsets as modules..

Some are open source, Others are not..

It's a neat open source BIOS implementation for embedded systems.. Thats for sure.

Only Acer Labs chipsets appear open source:
ALI M6117 & ALI M1487 FINALi are included in the tinyBIOS source..

From the looks of it, The others cost nearly $2000..
